About our Guest House

Our story

We are a small family run guest house with a friendly, informal atmosphere. We are open all year round, with the exception of Christmas.

Visit us in the summer when the days are long, or try an out of season break when the crowds have gone.

Mick and Mandy's bed and breakfast in York is a family run Victorian guest house. Ideally positioned on a quiet one-way street overlooking Bootham Park with views of York Minster, which is just a 10 minute walk away.

We are committed to providing a quality service at a competitive price. We often host repeat customers who find our hospitality and accommodation first rate (this is based on our many Tripadvisor reviews).

Our aim is to ensure your stay is enjoyable and relaxing whether on business or pleasure.

Welcome to York - the Original City of Adventure

At Bronte, we are proud of what we offer. That said, we realise that most of our guests are here to enjoy the City of York.

York is a city with Roman roots and a Viking past, where ancient city walls surround a thriving community of independent shops, quirky tea shops, hundreds of pubs, restaurants and bars. York is a one-off, unlike any other European city. There’s thirty world-class museums, the majestic York Minster Cathedral and the best racecourse in the country. York was voted the best place to live in the UK by the Sunday Times.

During your stay with us, we will be happy to provide advice on the many attractions in the city, and beyond.

Please note that we only take bookings for a minimum of 2 nights
